Without the time constraints of a crematorium or burial site, a memorial ceremony can last quite a few hours, allowing flexibility of time to share stories and memories of the person who has died.
They are often celebratory events whilst still holding in mind the sadness of the loss.
Members of the wider family, friends and work colleagues can gather together and enjoy sharing in a more open, free way.
